Developmental plans should surpass religion; Cardinal Baselios Cleemis

It is the need of the time that developmental activities that cover a society irrespective of caste and creed, should be carried out, said Cardinal Cleemis addressing the 58th Annual Gathering of MSSS, on February 6, 2018 at Girideepam Convention Center at Nalanchira. Cardinal added that it is one of his most cherished dreams that the city of Trivandrum should be one where hardly a single person goes hungry. He made call to everyone gathered to be part of it.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mathew T. Thomas, the Minister for Water Resources, said there should be plans for preserving water in the event of drought looming large in the state of Kerala. The official commencement of the activities of MSSS for 2018 was inaugurated by Mr. Muralidharan MLA. The launch of Srothas Development Vision 2030 was made by Mrs. Sobha Koshy, Chairperson of the Kerala Sate Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The logo of the counseling programme to be conducted in cooperation with the Women’s Commission of Kerala was displayed by V.U. Kuriakos, its Director. His Excellency Yoohanon Mar Theodosius, the Curia Bishop delivered the keynote address. Fr. Bovas Mathew, the former Director of MSSS, and Fr. George Vettikattil, Director of KSSS were also present. A large gathering of MSSS Staff, officials and students participated in the function. Fr. Thomas Mukalumpurathu, the Executive Director of MSSS made arrangements for the successful conduct of the programme.
